Call For National And International Poets

With the purpose of enabling the participation of talented poets from around the world in the next edition of the Medellin International Poetry Festival, as well as to protect and strengthen the existence of this event that has contributed to the unity of poetic projects worldwide, Prometeo Magazine and the World Poetry Movement invite you to participate in this call for submissions.

GUIDELINES:

1. Poets of any nationality may participate. Poets who have participated in any of the 35 previous editions of the Medellín International Poetry Festival are excluded from this call for entries.

2. Up to 10 poets will be selected to actively participate in the 36th edition of the Medellín International Poetry Festival (July 4-11, 2026).

3. Poets who submit poems in different languages than Spanish must also include the respective translations into Spanish.

4. In a single Word document, each author must submit 20 poems (unpublished or published), a bio-bibliographical profile of no more than 20 lines, as well as a photograph and contact details: email, WhatsApp number, city of residence, and social media accounts. The complete file must be sent to: [email protected]

5. Participation in the Festival will be in person. The organizers of the 36th FIPMed will cover the accommodation, food, and internal transportation expenses of the selected poets.

6. The selected international poets and Colombian poets living abroad must cover or arrange their own airfare, arriving in Medellín on Friday, July 3, and departing on Sunday, July 12. The organizers will provide airfare and cover other accommodation expenses for Colombian poets residing in the country.

7. This call for entries is open from the date of publication and closes on Friday, January 16, 2026.

8. A jury consisting of three renowned poets will be formed.

9. The decision will be announced on February 10th, 2026 and will be published on our social media accounts and on this website.
